We were delighted when eight-year-old Alex was inspired to make a difference to people experiencing homelessness and decided to take on the challenge of running a full marathon over the summer holidays for Jimmy’s. Due to Alex’s dedication and commitment he has raised just over £600 which is incredible.
Emma, Alex’s mum has been logging all of Alex’s runs, sharing them on social media and we have loved following his journey.
Alex said:
“I’ve always felt sad seeing homeless people on the streets. I want to help all of them but I can’t do that much. So, I decided to raise money for Jimmy’s so that I can help many people. I’ve always enjoyed running, so this was a good activity to pick. I’m happy and proud that I raised over £600 for Jimmy’s and I hope that it helps those who need it.”
Jimmy’s are so grateful to Alex for taking on this challenge and making such a big difference to those experiencing homelessness in Cambridge.
This inspiring story highlights the power of compassion and the incredible impact that even the youngest members of our community can have when they set their minds to helping others.
If you would like to donate to Alex’s fundraising page, we know he would be delighted.
