On Sunday 3rd March, 30 incredible runners took to the streets of Cambridge to support people experiencing homelessness as part of the Cambridge Half Marathon.
In near perfect conditions, new and experienced runners ran the iconic route passing through three University of Cambridge Colleges – St John’s College, Trinity College, King’s College and Jesus College, through the picturesque village of Grantchester before returning through the city centre before reaching the finish line on Jesus Green.
As always, the people of Cambridge came out in force to cheer on over 16,000 participants and were delighted to be there too!
We are also delighted to share that our team of runners have raised over £13,000 which is enough to fund one the running of one of our modular homes including all of the support offered to the resident living there! This is a phenomenal achievement and we are so incredibly proud of all our fundraisers!
“Whilst I always thought I’d do a half marathon at some stage it had never happened, so when the opportunity arose to sign up to the Cambridge Half for Jimmy’s I jumped at it with both hands. I was a little nervous on the day but felt inspired and proud to wear my Jimmy’s Cambridge running vest! Thank you for all of the support from the Jimmy’s team and the people of Cambridge too! It was a fantastic event!”
If you want to show the #JimmysJoggers your support why not sponsor them here.
